SRI LANKA, (SedekahBarangku) – Alms, a word that may be familiar to our ears. However, have we really practiced the meaning of alms itself? Alms is not only a matter of giving money, but can also be in the form of goods. Yes, kindness is not only limited to the value of money, but can also be in the form of kindness in kind.

Sedekah Barangku volunteers are here to be a bridge connecting donors with communities in need of assistance. Sedekah Barangku volunteers focus on raising donations in the form of goods that are still suitable for use. This program is one of the efforts made to help others.

“And whatever you infaq, Allah will surely replace it. And He is the best giver of sustenance” (QS: Saba’ verse 39)

In the Sedekah Barangku program, donors can donate in the form of clothes, books and stationery, bags, shoes, household furniture, toys, dolls, electronics, furniture, bicycles, motorcycles, cars, and others. The donation will be received by the Sedekah Barangku Volunteer which will later be processed and distributed to people in need.

If you have items that are no longer used, you can donate these items to be distributed to people in need. Items that are not used should not be left stored in the warehouse let alone thrown away. Through the Sedekah Barangku program, the unused goods will be processed optimally and then distributed to people in need. That way, items that are garbage for someone, can be of great benefit to others.

Sedekah Barangku volunteers will ensure that the items received in this program are still suitable and useful for use. Some items will be processed and repaired if needed, so that they can be reused. Meanwhile, items that are still suitable for use will be directly given to people in need.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) in a hadith narrated by Imam Muslim from Abu Hurayrah:

“Whoever resolves a believer’s difficulties from the difficulties of the world, Allah will surely ease his difficulties on the Day of Judgment. Whoever makes it easy for a person who is in trouble, Allah will make it easy for him in this world and the hereafter.”

The donation of goods we give will be a happiness for whoever receives it. There is nothing in vain in doing good, because the good we do will definitely have abundant benefits and rewards.
